Mission
The Power of Life was founded by Freesia Gracia Gao in February 2023. It is a part of Love Thy Neighbor International, a volunteer organization dedicated to providing a platform for youths to grow and serve the community.
We believe that the core part of a young person's growth is the growth of the "human" inside him/her. A human being is a human being because he/she knows that he/she is born with a purpose & a mission. We are born to love. We are born to serve. We are born to connect. In the Power of Life club, youths are organized by themselves, creating serving opportunities and serving the society as a close team.

Tutoring Orphans (International Program)
Since Dec. 2022, we have been providing English tutoring services to the orphans in Haiti Hopestart International every Saturday morning as a part of the big team of Haiti Tutoring International Project. We taught daily life English. We introduced knowledges of music and art. We talked about the culture in the U.S.A. We online celebrated the holidays with the orphans each new year. 🎉

Donating Gifts to Local In-hospital Patients
Donating Gifts to Local In-hospital Patients
In December 2023, we organized a donation activity to the in-hospital patients in Riley Children's Hospital and Methodist Hospital. We donated word search, crossword puzzle, coloring, paper game items together with happy new year cards. This activity was organized by Gracia Gao.

Organizing Concerts in Local Senior Communities
Since June 2024, we have been organizing concerts in local senior communities, including the memory care units. We hosted larger-scale concerts that showcase our talents and captivates the audience with a movie-themed repertoire as well as with some other classical pieces. 🎉

In Summer 2024, we created educational videos to teach refugee children of how to use Google, Zoom, and Scratch. This is a national program led by Albert Gao (the co-founder of Love Thy Neighbor International) 🎉

Spreading Biomedical Knowledge
Spreading Biomedical Knowledge
On Oct. 10 and Oct. 14, 2024, the youth volunteers were spreading the flyers of the knowledge of breast cancer and the related clinical trial in local communities. The flyers are from the IU SIMON comprehensive cancer center. (reference social media: https://youtu.be/MDUh7jciAJg) The volunteer family displayed the flyers in their family-owned restaurant.
